About THE AUTHOR
Dr. Raveendra (Ravi) Batra is a Professor of Economics at Southern Methodist University Dallas, Texas, U.S.A., having previously taught at Hindu College Delhi, Southern Illinois University, and the University of Western Ontario. He is the author of Studies in the Pure Theory of International Trade, The Pure Theory of International Trade Under Uncertainty, The Downfall of Capitalism and Communism: a New Study of History, and Prout: The Alternative to Capitalism and Marxism. He has also authored numerous articles on world economic problems in learned journals. An article in Economic Inquiry, October 1978, ranks him as one of the top five economists “superstars” in universities in North America. For 1980-81, he is a visiting professor at Vanderbilt University, Nashville, Tennessee.
